James Saltonstall, President
Retired Executive

Jim retired in 2008 from Middlesex School, Concord, MA, where he served for 40 years as a teacher (French and Economics), coach, dorm head and, most recently, business manager. As business manager, he was responsible for budgets and financial accountability, buildings and grounds, human resources and he worked on many special projects with the head of school and trustees. In addition to the Lowell Habitat Board, Jim serves on the Boards of Carleton Willard Village in Bedford, the New England Grenfell Association and Communities for Restorative Justice in Concord. He lives in Carlisle with his wife, has two grown children and enjoys skiing, gardening and doing outdoor work around the house.

 

Rob Moodie, Treasurer
Senior Vice President, Eastern Bank

Rob Moodie is a Senior Vice President and Team Leader for the commercial banking division of Eastern Bank in Boston. Rob has 25+ years of commercial banking experience, and joined Eastern Bank in 1999. He previously held commercial banking positions with Fleet Bank and the First National Bank of Boston. Rob holds a BA degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an MBA from Boston College. In addition to serving on the board of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell, Rob also serves on the board of The Lowell Development & Financial Corporation (LDFC), a non-profit development corporation which offers low-interest loans as an incentive to invest in commercial and housing development within the City of Lowell. Rob is married with three children and lives in Littleton.

   
 

Peter Mullin, Secretary
Attorney, Law Office of Peter J. Mullin

Peter J. Mullin is a sole practitioner attorney. His general practice law office concentrates in estate planning, small business and residential real estate. Prior to practicing law, he worked in high tech manufacturing as an engineering supervisor. He received a BA degree from Merrimack College, an MBA degree from Rivier College and a JD degree from Massachusetts School of Law. He is an active member of the Westford Rotary Club and sits on the Board of Directors for The Merrimack Valley Food Bank. Peter resides in Lowell with his wife, Ann. He has a stepdaughter, Robin, three grandchildren, Vanessa, Jonathan and Justin and one great-granddaughter, Emma.

 

Thomas Arrison
Certified Public Accountant, Arrison & Olden PC

Thom has either owned his own firm or been a partner in other firms for over 25 years. In 1992, Thom openedhis office in Littleton, Massachusetts. He specializes in working with non-profits and small businesses. Thom has also participated in other business venturesk including being an owner and member of the board of directors of a professional soccer team based in Boston. Thom frequently conducts seminars to educate business owners on effedtive business development strategies.

 

Rev. E.Tom Barrington
Rector at All Saints' Episcopal Church

Tom is an Episcopal priest and served as Rector of All Saints' Church in Chelmsford for twelve years. It is through his parish that he first was invited to swing a hammer for Habitat. He discovered an amazing array of people doing the wonderful work. He states, "For me, helping Habitat is to join God in God's mission." Before coming to Chelmsford, Tom served at three different churches in Syracuse, NY, the large downtown Cathedral, a small working class congregation, and a tiny mission church on the Onondaga Nation, just south of Syracuse. He dilights in crossing boundaries of race and class and being able to sometimes introduce one to the other. Currently he was also involved in work in Kenyaand East Africa through the Diocese of Massachusetts.

 

Jim Silva
Attorney and local/regional government official

Jim is an attorney with 10 years experience in intellectual property and business law. Additionally, he has served for 8 years as an elected or appointed local and regional government official. In particular Jim was a Selectman in the town of Westford from 2003 to 2006 and is a member of the Northern Middlesex Council of Government (2003 to present) for which he has been Chairman for the last three years. He also has extensive experience in municipal law regarding affordable housing having served on various local and regional affordable housing government groups.

 

James L. Milinazzo
Mayor of Lowell, MA

James Milinazzo is a lifelong resident of Lowell. He is married to Anabel (Byrne), who is a school teacher. They have one daughter, Julie. James Milinazzo has a Master’s in Public Administration from Suffolk University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Merrimack College and is currently Vice President of Business Services at Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union. He served the city as Executive Director of the Lowell Housing Authority from 1993-2002. He also served as the Director of the City of Lowell Division of Planning and Development. Jim was first elected to the Lowell city council in 2003. He was Mayor of Lowell from 2010-2011. He served as the Vice -Mayor to Mayor William F. Martin in 2006 and 2007 and has served the community on numerous boards and commissions.

Melissa Robbins
Attorney, Deschenes & Farrell, P.C.

Melissa Robbins has been actively involved with the legal aspects of the development, financing and construction of real estate and affordable housing for the last six years. During that time, Ms. Robbins has been promoting smart growth and affordable housing for developers, as well as non-profit and governmental agencies through the use of local zoning, M.G.L. Chapter 40B and other creative methods.

Ms. Robbins and attorneys within the firm represent developers, as well as affordable housing advocates, in towns including, Westford, Littleton, Groton, Concord, Hopedale, Clinton, Dracut and Tyngsboro.

Paiman Nodoushani
Sr. Director Engineering, Avaya

Paiman Nodoushani is Sr. Director at Avaya responsible for cloud strategy and products. Paiman is a high tech industry professional with 20 years experience in engineering/product development. Prior to Avaya, he spent over 12 years at Cisco in various leadership roles. Paiman holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. Paiman is also a trustee with the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council.

Robert Darin
Executive Vice President, Health Dialog

Bob Darin has 17 years experience in health care anaytics and operations management. He currently serves as Executive Vice President, Research and Development for Health Dialog, where he has overall reponsibility for product develjopment, analytics, and consumer decision aid development. In previous work at Health Dialog, Bob also served 4 years as Senior Vice President of Client Operations from 2003 to 2006, and he helped set up serveral randomized controlled trials fo care management program effectiveness, includeing Health Dialog's seminal study published in New England Journal of Medicine. Bob's prior executive experience include his most recent position as Vice President and General Manager of MediQual Service, a business unit of Cardinal Health, from 2006-2008. Bob holds an honors MBA in analytic finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and he received a magna cum laude degree in economics from Harvard College.

Brenda Gould, Interim Executive Director
Business Optimization Specialist, Schooley Mitchell Telecom Consultants

Brenda joined the HFHGL Board in 2007 and had served 3 years as Treasurer, then elected VP in March 2010. In spring 2010 Brenda opened a Schooley Mitchell Telecom franchise, where she works on a contingency basis to make sure companies get the best options and best prices for their telecommunicatin systems. Prior work experience includes 25 years of industry experience as a Business Operations Manager with Millipore Corporation in Billerica MA and Agamatrix in Salem, NH. Brenda lives in Westford, MA with her husband, Perry and two daughters, Jennifer and Danielle. She holds a BBA in accounting from Siena College in NY, and MBA in finance from Bentley College in Waltham.
